AN AMERICAN PRAYER

 
“An American Prayer” is a documentary about ordinary Americans in an extraordinary time, caught between love, duty, desire, and stereotype. It was shot during at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in several cities in the USA and Mexico and features anguished, ecstatic, conflicted individuals whose lives swing between despair and devotion and whose belief in the American Dream is tested by contradictory forces. The film portrays unseen characters and unheard voices that conjure an alternative vision of the USA, and the themes tackled are urgent and immediate.
